  • Schema cache is updated every 5 minutes
  • Adding an attribute (PAS) causes GC synchronization throughout the forest (.NET servers are more efficient, not requiring full synch)
  • Directory is queried through port 389
  • Adding directory enabled app's may disrupt service as forest wide replication occurs
  • GC is queried through port 3268 (DC's respond on 389-standard dc port)
